DAY 1
Arrival in San Jose, Costa Rica. Upon arrival in Costa Rica one of our representatives will be waiting for you at the international airport to welcome you and then transfer you to the San Jose area. In the afternoon you will visit the city of San Jose. Thanks to the Spanish colonial heritage, San Jose is characterized by its city blocks and some colonial buildings that are still preserved, such as the National Theater. During the walk along the different pedestrian boulevards, you will learn about the culture and history of Costa Rica and also admire excellent exhibits in the museums and historical sites of the capital city.
DAY 2
Breakfast. Today you will be transferred to the plains of Sarapiquí. Thanks to the proximity to the Central Valley it is possible to visit two natural attractions of great beauty; the Irazu Volcano and the Sarapiqui River. During the tour to the Irazú Volcano you will be able to observe plantations of diverse agricultural products, as well as nurseries of different ornamental plants. Upon reaching the top of the volcano you will be able to admire its four craters and the vegetation characteristic of the high altitude climate. The tour continues through the central volcanic mountain range where you can appreciate beautiful waterfalls and the evergreen forest that characterize the Braulio Carrillo National Park, then arrive at the plains of Sarapiqui which are characterized by their fertile land, which are used for different crops highlighting the pineapple, cassava, papaya and banana. The biological reserves, considered true paradises for ecotourism, as well as the family farms that have seen in tourism, a different way to take advantage of natural resources, offering each visitor a large number of adventure activities. In the small town of Puerto Viejo you will board a tourist boat to navigate the Sarapiqui River, which is one of the main attractions of this area, thanks to its beautiful scenery, where there are many plants, animals, reptiles and birds. DAY 3
Breakfast and free morning to explore the surroundings of Sarapiquí. We recommend you to take some of the optional activities offered in the area (extra cost). You can visit the La Selva or Tirimbina reserves to discover the beauties of the rainforest. Educational excursions to the pineapple and cocoa plantations are also offered. In the afternoon the trip begins to the northern plains of Costa Rica, right where the biggest natural attraction of the country is located; the Arenal Volcano. This route offers beautiful landscapes accompanied by picturesque rural towns such as Rio Cuarto, Aguas Zarcas and La Fortuna de San Carlos, in the latter and if weather conditions permit, you will be able to appreciate the Arenal Volcano that will welcome you with its majestic volcanic cone. Check in at the selected hotel where you will stay for the next two nights. Towards the end of the afternoon, you will visit the relaxing hot springs of Tabacón, a unique place in the world where you can relax and enjoy the healing properties of its minerals, this, in the different thermal pools heated directly from the volcanic veins near the resort. DAY 4
Breakfast. This day is reserved for you to enjoy the different tourist attractions (extra cost) around the Arenal Volcano. If you wish to explore the area in a more exciting way, we recommend a visit to the Arenal Reserve, where you will find the Sky Tram & Sky Trek. This excursion combines the ascent to the top of the mountains by means of a cable car enjoying beautiful landscapes of Lake Arenal, while the descent is done by means of pulleys attached to transverse cables that go from one mountain to another, to give way to adventure and fun. If you prefer a quieter excursion and admire the natural beauties of the northern plains, we recommend a visit to the Arenal Hanging Bridges, a system of trails immersed in the tropical rainforest where you will find 14 hanging bridges. The bridges and trails were built considering all types of visitors and their safety. Regularly 50 to 60 species can be found, which makes it one of the most profitable in Costa Rica. Lodging
DAY 5
Breakfast. At mid-morning you will continue your family vacation in Costa Rica, this time you will be transferred to the Central Pacific coast where you will stay for the next two nights at the selected hotel in Jaco or Puntarenas. The selected beach hotels offer you all the comforts to make your vacation a pleasant and entertaining stay, enjoying at all times their All Inclusive system. Lodging.
DAY 6
Breakfast. Free day to rest at the hotel, enjoy the All Inclusive system or take one of the optional excursions (extra cost) offered in the area. Overnight at the hotel.
